Soliant Health names Top 20 Most Beautiful Hospitals

Soliant Health, a leading nationwide healthcare staffing provider, has again named Dixie Regional Medical Center one of their Top 20 Most Beautiful Hospitals in the United States. Winners in 2010 were selected by popular vote, while winners in the 2009 contest were selected by consultants who used measures such as architectural style, photogenic properties, landscaping, and distinctiveness in their evaluation.

“We selected Dixie Regional Medical Center as the number 18 facility on our 2009 list because of its unique outdoor space and thoughtfulness in creating a soothing atmosphere for patients and families,” a Soliant Health official explained in a letter to the hospital. In 2010, voters nudged Dixie Regional's placement up a few notches, ranking the hospital 11th most beautiful in the nation.

“As a provider of healthcare professionals for hospitals, we recognize that staff morale and attention to patient needs are critical to patient’s happiness,” said David Alexander, president of Soliant Health, “but we’ve found that another factor in satisfaction was how the hospital actually looked. That is why we were inspired to create this list.”

“I can’t tell you how many people from outside the area have sent me e-mails and letters about how beautiful our hospital is,” said Terri Kane, Dixie Regional’s CEO and administrator. “The beauty of our facility has truly had an amazing effect on our patients.”

Along with the architecture that pays homage to the area’s distinctive red rock and slot canyons, the River Road hospital and Health & Performance Center are further enhanced by artwork created primarily by local artists.
