Introducing Matthew S. Spencer, MD

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Matthew Spencer, who is now practicing at the Layton Clinic. After earning his medical degree from the University of Utah, Dr. Spencer joined the McKay-Dee Hospital Family Medicine Residency and was selected as chief resident. He is the recipient of many awards and honors, including the Cameron C. Lewis Award for Outstanding and Unusual Compassion in Medicine. While completing his residency, Dr. Spencer worked at several InstaCare clinics.

Outside of work, Dr. Spencer has served as a student director for Utah Rural Outreach, Medical Director for the Ogden Marathon, and Co-Director for the C.A.R.E. Fair. He has volunteered extensively, including at the Special Olympics, the Fourth Street Clinic for the homeless, the Women's Health Connection, and the Xterra Triathlon. Dr. Spencer is fluent in conversational Spanish and enjoys water sports, basketball, and golf.
