Introducing Tawnya L. Bowles, MD

We’re pleased to introduce Dr. Tawnya Bowles, a board certified general surgeon. Dr. Bowles attended Dartmouth Medical School in Hanover, New Hampshire. During medical school, she earned several awards and led the Women’s Health Curriculum Committee. Dr. Bowles completed her internship and residency in general surgery at the University of California Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. She earned the Vice-Chancellor’s Award for Service and Excellence and was designated as Outstanding Chief Resident. Following residency, she completed a surgical oncology fellowship at the MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas.

Dr. Bowles has served on many medical committees and taught seminars at the University of California. She has given several formal presentations, published many articles in peer-reviewed journals, and recently wrote a book chapter on skin cancer. Topics she has researched thoroughly include melanoma, Merkel cell carcinoma, pancreatic cancer, and rectal cancer.
