Denim and Diamonds A Benefit Gala scheduled for Saturday, December 4, 2010

MICHAEL MCLEAN’S “FORGOTTEN CAROLS” TO BENEFIT THE WASATCH COMMUNITY FOUNDATION AND HEBER VALLEY MEDICAL CENTER’S DENIM AND DIAMONDS BENEFIT GALA

October 21, 2010, Heber City, Utah. The third annual Denim and Diamonds, A Benefit Gala, will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Soldier Hollow Golf Course in Midway, Utah. The evening’s entertainment will be Michael McLean performing The Forgotten Carols. The Forgotten Carols performance will be held at the Wasatch County Events Center, doors open at 7 p.m. and the show begins at 7:30.

Ever the engaging performer and master storyteller, McLean has shared his beloved Christmas musical, THE FORGOTTEN CAROLS, with more than a million people across the country since 1991. With humor and heart, “The Carols” has become a treasured tradition for families and friends who mark the beginning of their holiday season with this magical musical.

The last time THE FORGOTTEN CAROLS was performed in McLean’s hometown and the place where the story and the songs were written was 18 years ago. The show has made some significant transformation since those days when he played virtually all the parts himself.

Denim and Diamonds: A benefit gala is in its third year and is quickly becoming a highly regarded community event. Last year’s benefit was attended by over 600 people and brought in nearly $30,000 for the Women’s Diagnostic Center at Heber Valley Medical Center.

Through McLean’s generosity, premium floor seating is being reserved for supporters and sponsors of Denim and Diamonds.

Proceeds from Denim and Diamonds will support the expansion of the Diagnostic Imaging Department and help fund the new Women’s Diagnostic Center. Construction began in late August of this year and the center will open in early January 2011.

Tickets to attend dinner, auction and entertainment are $125 per person and are available by going to www.heberhospital.org. VIP tickets for the concert only are $26.50 per person and can also be purchased at www.heberhospital.org.

Denim and Diamonds is organized by Heber Valley Medical Center and the Wasatch Community Foundation, which is made up of community representatives who serve as unpaid volunteers to raise funds to provide philanthropic support to the health, education, arts and recreation projects in our community. We recognize and appreciate the generosity of Deseret Book and Michael and Lynn McLean.

Heber Valley Medical Center is part of Intermountain Healthcare and is a community-owned system of nonprofit hospitals and clinics. Intermountain’s hospitals, physicians, nurses and other caregivers are recognized national leaders in providing high quality care.
