Douglas Richards, MD

Dr. Douglas Richards recently joined our team, bringing more than two decades of medical expertise to Intermountain Medical Center's Maternal Fetal Medicine Specialists.

Dr. Richards attended the University of Utah School of Medicine in Salt Lake City where he stayed to complete his residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology. He completed a fellowship in Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University of North Carolina, and is board certified in that subspecialty.

Following his fellowship, he joined the faculty at the University of Florida College of Medicine where he worked for 24 years. He achieved the academic rank of Professor of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Professor of Pediatrics. He has directed the Ob/Gyn ultrasound unit, the Division of Maternal Fetal Medicine at the University of Florida, the Obstetrics Service of Shands Teaching Hospital, and the Maternal Fetal Medicine Fellowship program. He has served as a member of the editorial board of Obstetrics and Gynecology as as a reviewer for other journals as well.

Dr. Richards has authored or co-authored more than 60 professional publications.
