Marathon Runners Lecture

Dixie Regional Medical Center’s Performance Sports Training and Sports Medicine programs are partnering with the St. George Running Center and the City of St. George to offer ideas, training and expertise to serious runners at a free presentation June 16 at 6:30 p.m.

This will be the first in a series of free runners lectures leading up to the St. George Marathon and will take place at the Performance Sports Training gym on the lower level of the Dixie Regional Health & Performance Center, located at 652 S. Medical Center Drive. The lecture will discuss how to use a heart rate monitor and exercise zones. Presenters will include Locke Ettinger, an experience physical therapist and Ironman athlete, and Trevor Smith, an exercise physiologist with the hospital’s Gateway to Wellness program.

Upcoming lectures in the series will include injury prevention and proper hydration on July 14, running analysis and core strengthening on August 11, and proper athlete nutrition and race review on September 15.
