Shane D. Lewis, MD

Alta View Specialty Clinic is pleased to welcome Dr. Shane Lewis, a general surgeon. Dr. Lewis earned his medical degree at George Washington University School of Medicine. He then went to Texas A&M University for his surgical internship and general surgery residency. Dr. Lewis also received specialized postgraduate training by completing the Surgical Educational Research Fellowship from the Association of Surgical Education.

As a general surgeon, Dr. Lewis cares for a variety of conditions; he has particular interest and emphasis in abdominal wall disorders, colon and rectal cancer, acid reflux disease, gastric surgery, gastrointestinal, biliary tract (gall bladder), breast cancer, and minimally invasive surgeries, including advanced single incision laparoscopic surgery (SILS) for a variety of diseases.

Since 2006, Dr. Lewis served as a resident general surgeon at the Scott and White Memorial Hospital in Temple, Texas. He is actively involved in Operation Smile, Boy Scouts of America, the American College of Surgeons and other organizations and volunteer opportunities. He is an elected member of the honor medical society AΩA (Alpha Omega Alpha).
