Dr. Valdes is new medical director of Telehealth efforts

Intermountain Healthcare has announced that Wesley Valdes, DO, will be the organization's first medical director of Telehealth Services.

Dr. Valdes will be responsible for Telehealth efforts across the Intermountain system. In this role he will help Intermountain physicians and clinical teams to identify and develop the best methods and services to deliver patient care through Telehealth technology.

Before joining Intermountain, Dr. Valdes served as the director of the Center of Telehealth and as assistant professor of clinical surgery at the University of Illinois. He is the chairperson of the American Telemedicine Association Research Task Force.

Dr. Valdes received his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1999. He completed an internship at the Olympia Fields Osteopathic Medical Center in 2000, and completed his residency at the Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, IL, in 2003. He has served on a number of medical and scientific advisory boards, and is extensively published in medical publications and newsletters.
