Riverton Hospital ‘Thanksgiving Quilt’

RIVERTON, UT – Studies show that showing gratitude can actually make you healthier and Riverton Hospital is full of gratitude this week as patients, visitors, and employees come together to contribute a to the hospital’s “Thanksgiving Quilt” – a temporary display set up in the hospital’s lobby.

The gratitude quilt, which has been up since last Monday, is a living display where people post an answer to the prompt, “I’m thankful for…”

The responses express hope, healing and love:

“Modern medicine. Caught my sister’s cancer early. I love you Jenn!”

“Extra change [from] strangers.”

“My new baby sister and friends and family that love me.”

“Pam, my physical therapist, helping me to walk again!!”

“Fall colors.”

“No one wants to be in the hospital around the holidays and I’m inspired by this wall of gratitude created by our patients, their families, and our own employees,” says Blair Kent, administrator of Riverton Hospital. “It’s wonderful to see people stopping by to read the notes and write one of their own. It’s a tradition I hope we’ll continue every year.”

The Thanksgiving quilt will be on display in Riverton Hospital’s South Lobby through the Thanksgiving holiday.
