MURRAY, UT – Free EKGs and other free heart tests and screenings will be available at the annual Intermountain Medical Center Heart Institute Community Healthy Heart Fair on Saturday, February 11, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Intermountain Heart Institute Community Healthy Heart Fair will be held at Intermountain Medical Center at 5300 South State Street in Murray. It is the largest heart fair in the Intermountain region.
In addition to free EKG exams, other free tests will include cholesterol screenings, blood glucose tests, blood pressure checks and body fat analysis. All tests will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
Participants can also learn about common heart problems, talk to the region’s leading heart experts, get information about their diet, medication, insurance benefits, and learn how to enhance their overall heart health.
Additional presentations, activities, and cardiovascular experts from all of the different services and programs available at the Heart Institute will be offered – plus light refreshments will be served. A Life Flight medical helicopter and fire trucks from Murray City Fire Department will be on display.
“This is a great opportunity for people to get an initial assessment of where they stand in terms of their heart health,” says Donald Lappe, MD, chief of cardiology at the Heart Institute at Intermountain Medical Center. “We encourage everyone to take advantage of these free screenings and resources to improve their heart health.”
