Free Riverton Hospital Community Health Seminars

Riverton, UT – Intermountain Riverton Hospital will host a series of free community health seminars in 2012. You’ll have a chance to hear from experts about current health topics along with Q & A sessions where you’ll get answers to all the questions you’ve been meaning to ask.

Our first seminar on February 28 will ask, “Are you at risk for heart disease?” Cardiologist, Rex Outtrim, MD will address hypertension and high cholesterol. According to Dr. Outtrim, “Taking measures to strengthen your heart and prevent heart disease is one of the most important things you can do for yourself. Eating the proper foods, exercising, and getting regular checkups are all very important to the health of your heart.” Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States, and the month of February is dedicated to raising awareness about the disease. Get on track to better health by attending the Riverton FREE community health seminars.

April 24, 2012 – Allergies: How best to live with them, presented by allergist, Scott Taylor, MD.

June 26, 2012 – Urology and Aging: What to expect as we age and how to
treat it,
presented by urologist, Orrenzo Snyder, MD.

August 28, 2012 – Diabetes: Take charge of your diabetes, presented by certified diabetic educator, Heather Sandstrom, RPh, CDE.

October 23, 2012 – Dermatology and Skin Problems: Beautiful skin takes
care,
presented by dermatologist, Adam Taintor, MD.

November 27, 2012 – Childhood Respiratory Problems and Asthma,
presented by pediatrician, Shellie Ring, MD.

All seminars will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Riverton/Herriman Conference Rooms, located on the first floor near the cafeteria.
