Intermountain names new VP of Clinical Operations and CNO

Kim Henrichsen, RN, MSN, has been selected as vice president of clinical operations and chief nursing officer for Intermountain Healthcare. Previously she was the chief nursing officer of Intermountain's facilities located in the Salt Lake area. She replaced Nancy Nowak who retired in early January.

In her new role, Henrichsen will set the strategy for bedside care and clinical and professional services across Intermountain, including nursing, clinical programs, and clinical services. She'll lead the continuous improvement of clinical care at all Intermountain facilities and provide clinical leadership and consultation to the various business divisions of Intermountain, including IS, Procurement, Finance, Risk Management, and regional operations. She'll also ensure the standardization of Intermountain's quality, accreditation, regulatory compliance, and patient safety efforts, and will develop and strengthen partnerships with clinical leaders and bedside clinicians across the system to support best practices.

Henrichsen has also served as chief nursing officer and operations officer for Intermountain's Southwest Region, director of cardiovascular services for Intermountain's Dixie Regional Medical Center, and manager of adult critical care at Intermountain's Utah Valley Regional Medical Center. She holds a master's degree in adult continuous care and a bachelor's in nursing from the University of Utah.
