CIO Among Top Leaders in Healthcare IT

Marc Probst, Intermountain Healthcare Vice President and Chief Information Officer, was among the top leaders in healthcare information technology honored by Healthcare IT News' third annual H.I.T. Men and Women Awards. The awards were presented recently at the annual Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS) conference.

More than 1,500 Healthcare IT News readers chose nine men and women for the awards. Recipients span the breadth and depth of the healthcare IT industry and include policymakers, healthcare providers, technology vendors, and healthcare payers. Marc was recognized in the category, "Enhancing Patient Care through Health IT." Other categories were "Shapers and Influencers" and "Innovators, Up and Coming."

With more than 40 years of extensive experience in health IT, Intermountain Healthcare has been able to use clinical systems to promote evidence-based best practices that improve patient outcomes. Intermountain has pioneered the use of electronic medical records and is considered a national leader in this area. Intermountain is currently partnering with GE Healthcare to develop the next generation of electronic medical records.
