Deborah T. Blumenthal, MD

Intermountain Healthcare is pleased to welcome Neuro-oncologist Deborah T. Blumenthal, MD to the Neuroscience Institute at Intermountain Medical Center. Dr. Blumenthal serves as the senior neuro-oncologist and director of Neuro-oncology service at the Tel Aviv Sourasky Medical Center (TASMC) in Israel.

Dr. Blumenthal earned her medical degree at Medical College of Georgia in Augusta, Georgia. She completed her residency in Neurology at West Virginia University and her fellowship in neuro-oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.

Dr. Blumenthal is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and serves on several neuro-oncology committees. She served as the chairperson for the Southwest Oncology Group (SWOG) Brain Committee. For seven years, Dr. Blumenthal was Director of Neuro-oncology at the Huntsman Cancer Institute at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City.

She has been published in dozens of medical journals and books, her research has earned a number of awards, and she has given numerous neurology related presentations around the world. Her research interests focus on familiality in brain tumors and on clinical trials for brain tumors.
