Intermountain Medical Center Named One of Nation’s Top 100 Great Hospitals

MURRAY – Intermountain Medical Center has been named one of the nation’s 100 Great Hospitals by Becker’s Hospital Review, an influential journal for hospital and health system leaders.
 
Intermountain Medical Center is the only hospital in Utah to make the Becker’s list, which includes hospitals and health organizations across the country that Becker’s says serve as “anchors of wellness in their local communities.”
 
“These range from well-known academic medical centers to smaller community hospitals that have demonstrated excellence,” according to Becker’s.
 
“We’re very proud that Intermountain Medical Center is on the list and recognized for the high quality of care that we deliver to our patients,” says David Grauer, administrator of Intermountain Medical Center. “It’s a nice validation of how well we’re fulfilling our role as Intermountain Healthcare’s flagship hospital.”
 
Becker’s compiled it’s top 100 hospital list through nominations, industry research and other recognized sources such asU.S. News & World Report, Thomson Reuters 100 Top Hospitals, Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award recipients and HealthGrades.
 
Other hospitals that were ranked as one of the 100 Great Hospitals include Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston; Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles; Cleveland Clinic; Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon, New Hampshire; Duke University Hospital in Durham, North Carolina; Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, Pennsylvania; Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit; Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore; Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston; Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota; and Stanford Hospital and Clinics in Palo Alto, California.
 
Becker’s Hospital Review says the 100 honored hospitals “each have a special place in the story of American healthcare and have demonstrated greatness through clinical accolades, innovation in care delivery, recent capital developments, and the offering of new services, specialty programs, or technology.”
