Kurtis D. Ellis, MD

The Intermountain Herefordshire Clinic & InstaCare is pleased to introduce Dr. Kurtis Ellis, a family medicine doctor. Dr. Ellis was born and raised in Riverdale, Utah and earned his bachelor’s degree at Weber State University in Ogden. He was first employed by Intermountain Healthcare as an undergraduate, working as a physical therapy aide at the North Ogden Clinic.
 
While earning his medical degree at the University of Utah, Dr. Ellis was an active volunteer.  He was Co-President of the university’s Utah Rural Outreach Program; volunteered at The Road Home (homeless shelter); taught first-aid and CPR with the American Red Cross; and went to Chengdu, China and Iquitos, Peru on medical missions.
 
After medical school, Dr. Ellis entered the Family Medicine Residency at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie, Indiana. He was on several committees at the residency, gained experience in the hospital’s Emergency Department, and treated pediatric patients in urgent care. For the final portion of his residency, he served as Chief Resident.
 
Dr. Ellis belongs to the American Medical Association and the American Academy of Family Physicians. He is particularly interested in preventive care, urgent care, and evidence-based medicine.
