Salt Lake City — Modern Healthcare magazine includes Charles Sorenson, MD, president and CEO of Intermountain Healthcare, on its ranking of the "100 Most Influential People in Healthcare," which was released this week.
The annual ranking recognizes men and women in a variety of roles who are considered among the most influential throughout the industry, as chosen by readers of the magazine. Modern Healthcare reported that this year's ranking reflects impact of important health coverage issues from policy to business to politics. Chief Justice John Roberts and other Washington officeholders and executives of large health insurance companies appear high on the list. Other CEOs of prominent health systems named to the list include the Mayo Clinic, Geisinger Health System, Kaiser Permanente, and the Cleveland Clinic.
