Logan Regional’s Transitional Care and Rehabilitation Unit has expanded with a spacious new physical therapy and rehabilitation area and large, private hospice suite. Both areas launch at an open house and ribbon cutting on Thursday, Nov. 8. Cache Valley residents are invited to attend. The ribbon cutting is at 12:15 p.m. and the open house runs from noon-1 p.m. and 5 to 6 p.m., and includes tours and refreshments.
Transitional Care and Rehabilitation cares for patients who need an extended stay after they are discharged from the regular hospital setting and who can benefit from daily physical, occupational or speech therapies, or skilled nursing care — to increase strength and wellness and successfully transition to home or another care facility.
“With our new physical therapy and rehabilitation area, we now have the tools to best help our patients,” said Scott Bishop, Transitional Care and Rehabilitation manager. “We can appropriately train and rehabilitate different types of patients and assure they are safe and strong enough to care for themselves when they return home. “
The unit also serves hospice patients — providing care and compassion in a home-like setting for terminally ill patients and their families.
Transitional Care and Rehabilitation is licensed separately from Logan Regional Hospital as a skilled nursing facility.
