Welcome Joanna L. Tierney, MD

Intermountain Medical Group welcomes Joanna L. Tierney, MD to the Internal Medicine Associates clinic. For the past seven years, she’s been practicing internal medicine with Sentara Medical Group in Norfolk, Virginia and serving as assistant clinical professor of internal medicine at Eastern Virginia Medical School.

 

Dr. Tierney earned her medical degree from the University of Washington, where she previously graduated with honors with a bachelor’s degree in biology. Dr. Tierney served a residency at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Boise, Idaho and spent the next five years practicing urgent care in Boise and Caldwell. She returned to the University of Washington for a second residency, before working as a primary care internal medicine physician with Providence Physician Group in Monroe, Washington.

 

Dr. Tierney is board certified in internal medicine and belongs to several professional societies including the American College of Physicians and the American Medical Association. She is an advocate for children with disabilities and her medical interests include long term care for diabetes, women's health and preventative care.

 

In her spare time, Dr. Tierney embraces hiking, skiing, golf and music, and she enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 children.
