Intermountain Budge Clinic and Logan Regional Hospital commence construction on a facility expansion

LOGAN, Utah — Intermountain Healthcare is beginning construction on an expansion to the Budge Clinic and Logan Regional Hospital. The addition, anticipated to be completed in 2015, will house Budge Clinic physician offices as well as provide space for future growth of Logan Regional Hospital services.

 

Jana Huffman, operations director for Intermountain Clinics in the Cache Valley Region, said the Budge Clinic expansion is necessary to meet the patient demand of a growing community. “The space within many of the current Budge Clinic departments is undersized for the existing patient volumes and demand. The new building will allow us to appropriately grow new and existing physician specialties to accommodate the needs of our community.” Some of the existing specialties that are expected to grow include dermatology, neurology, pediatrics, and internal medicine. “Adding physicians to the busy specialties, such as dermatology, will improve patient access and provide for future growth of the service,” said Huffman.

 

The expansion will add approximately 100,000 sq. ft. to the campus. The first three floors of the new building will be specifically for Budge Clinic physicians. The fourth floor will provide additional outpatient space for Logan Regional Hospital services. The expansion will also include two new state-of-the-art rehabilitation pools for patients undergoing rehabilitation following an injury or surgery.

 

With the new addition, along with a remodel of existing space in the current Budge Clinic and hospital, Logan Regional Hospital Chief Operations Officer Brandon McBride said Logan Regional will be prepared to provide the community with improved access and service. “The expansion will allow Budge Clinic and Logan Regional Hospital the ability to re-locate and realign services to the most appropriate location, which will provide for better access to care and a better overall experience for our patients.”
