Riverton Hospital To Hold Free Community Seminar on Managing Prescription Drugs

Riverton Hospital is holding a free community seminar on April 8 to help people better manage prescription drugs.

An expert from Intermountain Healthcare will help attendees better understand how to avoid becoming addicted to prescription medications, how taking multiple medication can interact with one another and why it’s important to keep your prescription medications in a secure location.

This free seminar will be held at Riverton Hospital on Tuesday, April 8 at 6:00 p.m. in the Riverton/Herriman Conference rooms on the first floor of the hospital.

Intermountain Healthcare urologist Jay Bishoff, MD – who is an expert on prescription drug misuse – will talk about what you can do to manage your prescription drugs and how to avoid misusing them, which can hurt you or your loved ones.

“Prescription pain medication overdoses in Utah kills more people than auto accidents,” says Dr. Bishoff.

Medication counseling will be provided after the seminar for anyone who’s interested.

The seminar and counseling are free and registration is not necessary. Light refreshments will be served. For more information, please call Riverton Hospital at 801-285-2017.
