Intermountain Recognized as a Top Information Technology Innovator

Salt Lake City -- For the fourth consecutive year, InformationWeek magazine has honored Intermountain Healthcare as one of the nation’s top innovators in information technology, ranking it No. 34 on this year’s InformationWeek Elite 100 list.

The magazine also awarded individual winners in eight business innovation categories, naming Intermountain the winner in the “Mobility” category. The recognition highlighted the success of Intermountain’s Health Hub mobile app in connecting with patients in the way they increasingly want to interact, through mobile devices.

According to InformationWeek, organizations making the Elite 100 demonstrate a pattern of technological, procedural, and organizational innovation.

“We see the best IT leaders tearing down traditional borders to help every department leverage technologies such as data analytics, cloud, and mobility,” said InformationWeek Editor Chris Murphy. “The 2015 InformationWeek Elite 100 spotlights companies at which IT is not only inseparable from every department, it's pivotal to every customer experience."

Intermountain was the only Utah organization included on the 2015 list. The winners represent 20 different industry sectors, and 18 of the 100 on the 2015 list are from the healthcare/medical industry. The three organizations on the 2015 InformationWeek Elite 100 are: 1) UPS, 2) Boeing, and 3) Jet Propulsion Lab, California Institute of Technology.
