Intermountain Healthcare Named One of Nation’s Best in Using Computer Technology

The American Hospital Association’s Health Forum and Hospitals & Health Networks announced the list of Health Care’s Most Wired, and Intermountain Healthcare is included for the 18th time in the 19 years the recognition has existed.

“The Most Wired hospitals are using every available technology option to create more ways to reach their patients in order to provide access to care,” said AHA President and CEO Rick Pollack. “They are transforming care delivery, investing in new delivery models in order to improve quality, provide access and control costs.”

The annual survey is designed to measure the level of IT adoption in U.S. hospitals and health systems for operational, financial and clinical performance, and to serve as a tool for healthcare leaders to map their IT strategic plans, according to AHA. The survey was conducted earlier in 2017 and included responses from 698 organizations representing 2,158 U.S. hospitals.

Intermountain Healthcare is a Utah-based not-for-profit system of 22 hospitals, 180 clinics, a Medical Group with about 1,500 employed physicians and advanced practitioners, a health plans group called SelectHealth, and other medical services. Intermountain is widely recognized as a leader in transforming healthcare through high quality and sustainable costs. For more information, visit www.intermountainhealthcare.org.
