Parents, Caregivers, and Kids to Celebrate 20th Anniversary of Intermountain American Fork Hospital’s Kid Stop Child Care Center on Wednesday

WHAT:
American Fork Hospital celebrates 20 years of taking care of the little ones! Intermountain American Fork Hospital opened their Kid Stop Child Care Center 20 years ago to give caregivers a safe and comfortable place to leave their children while working in surrounding Intermountain hospitals and clinics. On Wednesday, Parents, kids, and caregivers will celebrate the 20thanniversary of the center.

BACKGROUND:
Intermountain American Fork Hospital opened Kid Stop Child Care Center 20 years ago to give caregivers a place to leave their children while working in surrounding Intermountain hospitals and clinics.

During the past 20 years, Kid Stop has loved and cared for nearly 2,000 children from the ages of 6 weeks to 6 years. Some of those first kids are now bringing their own kids to the center.

Kid Stop is open from 5:45 am to 6:45 pm Monday – Friday. This schedule helps facilitate healthcare schedules and helps put parents’ minds at ease. They often join their children for lunch, while on breaks and for holiday parties.

Kid Stop Director, Lisa Gillman, who has been with the center for all 20 years, says parents come from Murray to Provo to take advantage of the schedule and the loving care the center provides.
