How can we help?
WHAT: For the first time in Utah, healthcare workers will start receiving COVID-19 vaccinations today as Intermountain Healthcare begins its vaccination rollout for caregivers at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City.
One reporter and photographer from each accredited media outlet is invited to shoot video and photos of the first Intermountain caregivers to be vaccinated. This will also be available via zoom broadcast.
Following the vaccination of those caregivers, a press briefing will be held with those caregivers, state health officials, and clinical leaders from the Intermountain vaccine distribution team.
On Monday, shipments of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine were delivered to Utah to two Intermountain Healthcare hospitals: LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City and Utah Valley Hospital in Provo.
Intermountain physicians were originally planning to begin the vaccination process for prioritized frontline caregivers on Wednesday, but thanks to progress in scheduling caregivers on Monday, were able to push that up and will begin vaccinations today.
Additional vaccine shipments are being delivered to two other Intermountain hospitals: Intermountain Medical Center in Murray and Dixie Regional Hospital in St. George, along with University of Utah Health in Salt Lake City.
