Intermountain Healthcare Physicians Warn Utahns About Staying Safe During Utah’s Dangerous Extreme Heat and Poor Air Conditions

WHAT:

 

As record high temperatures are forecasted across Utah this week with triple digit temperatures expected through Thursday, Intermountain Healthcare emergency physicians are warning residents to take precautions to stay safe this week.

 

Heat warnings and numerous temperature records, including the all-time June record high temperature for Salt Lake City are expected to be broken this week.

 

Intermountain Healthcare emergency will offer tips to help residents avoid heat-related illnesses during this extreme and dangerous heat wave, as well as advice to stay safe during periods of poor air quality.

 

Adam Balls, MD, chair of the emergency department at Intermountain Medical Center in Murray and Denitza Blagev, MD, Intermountain Healthcare pulmonologist and critical care physician, will both be available today at 11 am, to address and answer questions about Utah’s dangerous heat wave and poor air quality.
