Intermountain Health & Ortho Montana Announce New Surgery Center in Bozeman

Committed to creating a healthier community, Intermountain Health, formerly known as SCL Health in Montana, and Ortho Montana are expanding orthopedic and sports medicine services in the Bozeman community. To meet the growing healthcare needs in Bozeman and surrounding communities, the two organizations have partnered to create the Gallatin Valley Surgery Center, a new, state-of-the-art ambulatory surgery center which will be located in the former Gallatin Valley Mall, recently rebranded as Gallatin Crossing.

“For more than 50 years Intermountain Health has partnered with Ortho Montana to provide our region with top-notch orthopedic care and this joint venture is a testament to our commitment to advancing healthcare,” said Jen Alderfer, president of the Montana | Wyoming Market of Intermountain Health. “This endeavor is also a stepping stone to expanding Intermountain Health’s range of services. It's about providing the Gallatin Valley with comprehensive healthcare that covers a broad spectrum of needs, all while maintaining the highest standards of quality and patient care.”

As the two organizations work together to expand access to the highest quality, most affordable care for all patients in Montana, the new center will help meet the healthcare needs of the greater Bozeman community by:

  • providing high-quality, patient-centered care
  • providing easy access to care
  • providing innovative, lower cost/higher value care

“With this partnership, we are bringing world-class orthopedic expertise right here to the Bozeman community. Patients no longer need to travel long distances to receive the finest orthopedic care. It's now available in their own backyard,” said Roy Strong, CEO of Ortho Montana. “Our new surgery center will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology and staffed by highly skilled professionals who specialize in orthopedic care. This means shorter wait times, faster recovery, and exceptional patient outcomes.”

In addition to enhancing surgical offerings in Bozeman, Intermountain Health will be expanding specialty care in heart and vascular, neurosciences, urology, pediatrics, and Ortho Montana will be expanding its orthopedic and sports medicine presence as well.

The new 45,000 square construction project is expected to be completed by fall 2024.
