Helping Kids Get Back to Just Being Kids

See the Sorenson Cancer Center in our next Primary Promise film.

We’re excited to share the launch of the fourth-of-nine installment of our Primary Promise Film Series: Cancer Center.

The Sorenson Center for Cancer & Blood Disorders at Primary Children’s Hospital treats children, adolescents, and young adults — ranging in age from newborns through mid-20s — with pediatric cancers and non-malignant blood disorders, such as sickle cell anemia.

We’re fortunate to have one of the nation’s BEST children’s hospitals and top-tier pediatric cancer centers right here at Primary Children’s, giving children access to the most advanced medical experts, technology, and treatments available, so kids can get back to just being kids.

The Cancer Center is a campaign focus area, or Circle of Care, that celebrates and conveys a personal, universal campaign theme: The Importance of Care Closer to Home. As always, we highlight stories of our Primary Children’s patients and families, as well as our very own caregivers.

Our fourth film spotlights our efforts to strengthen Primary Children’s excellence, so together, we can ensure children receive the right care, in the right place, at the right time. It features (in order of appearance) Katy Welkie, CEO, PCH; Dr. Douglas Fair, Medical Director, Childhood and AYA Survivorship Program; Dr. Michael Pulsipher, Division Chief, Pediatric Hematology and Oncology; and Cheryl Gerdy, RN, Director, Clinical Operations, Sorenson Center for Cancer & Blood Disorders, along with many cameos made by our Primary Children’s caregiver community.
