The intermountain overall system KPI scores went up 25 percent last month.

The Intermountain Monthly Performance Dashboard for March is now available. The monthly dashboard reflects Intermountain’s overall achievement score for the nine board-reported key performance indicators (KPIs) as of March 31. The dashboard shows Intermountain’s overall system KPI scores rose 25% to 50% last month, which is a significant improvement. But still not as good of last year’s score in March, which was 79%.

“While this month’s score is still disappointing compared to our previous years’ performance, we’re grateful to each of you for your commitment to our 2022 priorities and your continuous improvement efforts evident in your active work plans,” says Rob Allen, chief operating officer. “Our improvement in the overall score is a direct result of the work you do every day to enhance patient and member experiences, stay safe at work, and much more.”

In March, the caregiver safety KPI performance remained better than our stretch goal for the third month in a row. We improved over the previous month’s performance and reached entry level targets in the following KPIs: likelihood to recommend, equity best practices, and caregiver team engagement.

Below are several actions to help influence KPI progress. You can find more in the Get to Know Our 2022 KPIs guide. During a Check-In or team meeting, talk to your leader about which actions resonate with you and how you can implement them in your day-to-day workRemember, actions taken at a local level influence system progress.

  • Caregiver safety KPI: If you get injured at work, remember to report your injury as soon as possible using the Employee Health line at 801-442-6767. While Employee Health nurses are still available onsite at many of our facilities, the phone line is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This is the phone number that should also be used to contact Employee Health with immunization questions, report serious injuries, and after-hours emergencies.
  • Quality of patient outcomes KPI: Share your high reliability care delivery experiences in your team’s huddles and embrace and celebrate the impact you and others are making in the lives of our patients.
  • Likelihood to recommend KPI: Has your leader read and shared your teams’ patient experience scores and comments recently? If not, ask them to do it in your next huddle so you and your team can discuss how to improve on your opportunities and celebrate the positive comments and recognitions.
  • Ease of scheduling Medical Group appointments KPI: All Medical Group caregiver teams are encouraged to support the standardized scheduling templates and phone performance training. Please take time to download the MyHealth+ app and become familiar with how it can help with scheduling an appointment.
  • Caregiver team engagement KPI: Intermountain is conducting an all caregiver experience pulse survey May 5-19. The short survey is only 30 questions and covers topics related to teams, leaders, engagement, decompression, and our safety culture. Caregivers hired before February 1, 2022 are eligible to take the survey and will receive an email invite on May 5. You can learn more about the survey here.
