Research and Professional Experience

Dr. Jacobs practices as an APRN with Intermountain Heart Institute Heart Rhythm Specialists, and has received a PhD in Nursing. Her research focuses on the following areas:

  • Atrial fibrillation
  • Geriatric syndromes and their related comorbidities
  • Medication therapies used in the treatment of dementia
  • Thromboembolism
  • Cardiovascular genetic disease

Dr. Jacobs participated in a NIH-NIA-funded intervention study that compared two forms of exercise used in strengthening muscles and preventing falls in a population of high risk older adults. She has also participated in the pivotal NIH-funded atrial fibrillation trial, CABANA.
