Intermountain Healthcare’s hospitals in Utah are easing some visitor guidelines beginning May 22 while continuing to ensure the safety and well-being of patients, caregivers, and the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Neurologists from Intermountain Healthcare are reminding people if they have any signs of a stroke to seek immediate medical attention.

To help keep patients, caregivers, and the community safe during the COVID-19 pandemic, Intermountain is changing visitor guidelines at its hospitals, clinics, and InstaCare locations. 

Intermountain Cassia Regional Hospital will reintroduce services and some medical procedures that have previously been restricted as part of safety measures taken in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

ProjectProtect is a partnership between Intermountain Healthcare, University of Utah Health, and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, to help sew five million medical-grade masks for frontline healthcare workers.

They spent two weeks helping exhausted and overwhelmed fellow caregivers in hospitals throughout New York City caring for COVID-19 patients as the coronavirus pandemic took its toll on the hardest hit city in the nation.

Intermountain Healthcare has started to use a COVID-19 antibody test offered by ARUP which may help identify previous COVID-19 infections. An antibody blood test will be given to carefully selected Intermountain Healthcare patients and caregivers who meet specific criteria.

As COVID-19 continues, Intermountain’s transplant program has created new protocols to ensure lifesaving procedures continue safely.
