Guests and Family Visitors

The ongoing safety of patients, caregivers, and our communities remains Intermountain Primary Children’s Hospital’s top priority as we face the COVID-19 pandemic. To that end, we have implemented guidelines for all visitors (people that aren’t patients or Primary Children’s Hospital caregivers) desiring to enter our facilities.  We have created these temporary steps to keep the care environment as safe as possible while also recognizing the value visitors bring to patients and their loved ones.

To enter a Primary Children’s facility, all visitors must:

  • Be in good health. We don’t allow individuals with signs of illness and who have active COVID-19 or a pending test result as visitors.
  • Complete a screening at the front entrance of the facility. This screening includes a short series of questions about symptoms performed by greeters at all facility entrances. (NOTE: A “screening” does not mean visitors must get a COVID-19 test. However, if visitors are experiencing symptoms, we ask that they refrain from visiting and recommend they reach out to their healthcare provider for advice.)
  • Wash their hands or use alcohol sanitizer. We ask that this is done before and after leaving our facilities and rooms to prevent the spread of viruses on high-touch areas.
  • Maintain social distance from others while in the facility. This includes staying six feet away from other guests and avoiding gathering in waiting rooms, lobbies, or entrances.
  • Wear appropriate protective equipment. All visitors are encouraged to bring their own cloth face coverings or masks. For some circumstances, masks and other protective equipment will be provided.
