What Tests are Used to Diagnose Epilepsy?


We have a variety of high-tech evaluations to diagnose and manage the full spectrum of epilepsy. Tests include:

  • Long-term video electroencephalogram (EEG) monitoring
  • High resolution neuroimaging such as 3-Tesla MRI, SPECT, PET, and functional MRI
  • In-depth neuropsychological testing
  • Wada testing
  • Visualase laser ablation 

When Do Doctors Diagnose Epilepsy?

Usually, a patient is diagnosed with epilepsy after two or more seizures that are not provoked by high fever, concussion or other event.
