What Tests are Used to Diagnose Epilepsy?

- Long-term video electroencephalogram (EEG) monitoring
- High resolution neuroimaging such as 3-Tesla MRI, SPECT, PET, and functional MRI
- In-depth neuropsychological testing
- Wada testing
- Visualase laser ablation
When Do Doctors Diagnose Epilepsy?
Usually, a patient is diagnosed with epilepsy after two or more seizures that are not provoked by high fever, concussion or other event.
