- Antacids can be purchased over-the-counter (OTC) and taken as instructed per package directions
- Other medications that can be a prescription or OTC include:
- Histamine-2 receptor antagonists (H2RA) like famotidine (Pepcid®, Zantac 360®)
- Proton pump inhibitors (PPI) including omeprazole, esomeprazole, and lansoprazole (Prilosec®, Nexium®, or Prevacid®)
- If insurance information is provided, the pharmacist will help determine an effective and affordable option considering your insurance plan. Several GERD medication options are also available OTC.
- The initial prescription might be a one-time prescription or have enough refills for one year. Once all refills are exhausted, you will need to request a new prescription by completing the same online form or working with your provider.
- The cost of the service is $29 consultation fee plus the cost of the medication(s) prescription after insurance coverage. Some insurance companies will also cover the $20 consultation fee. If you do not qualify, you will not be charged for the service.
- Once you complete the intake form, you will be contacted by one of our Clinical Pharmacists through secure messaging, a phone call, or virtual visit to evaluate your symptoms and recommend treatment.
- Assessment and evaluation may take 15-20 minutes.

- You can expect to be contacted by the clinical pharmacist within a few hours (between 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM MST) following submission of the intake form and depending on the time selected for a return call. The medication will be delivered to your home within 3-5 business days from the Intermountain Home Delivery Pharmacy. Shipping is free. The clinical pharmacist will work with you to identify a different arrangement if a more rapid turnaround is needed.
Complete the online intake form so a licensed pharmacist can determine the right treatment for you. A pharmacist will call you within 24–48 hours to discuss treatment options.
We’ll make up to two phone calls and one email if we can’t reach you right away by phone. Usually, we cannot provide a prescription without speaking with you first.
Refunds are not given if we cannot reach you via phone or email. Bank payments cannot be refunded.
If too much time passes after you send your form and we can’t reach you, you may need to fill out a new one so we have your updated health information.
