Our Medical Oncologists
Medical oncologists are specially trained in diagnosing and treating cancer using medications including chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, targeted therapy, and cancer immunotherapy. Often the main provider for someone who has cancer, medical oncologists have experience in the multidisciplinary approach to treating cancer and may coordinate treatment by other specialists. Intermountain Cancer Centers offer patients a highly trained team of medical oncologists experienced in providing cancer immunotherapy to our patients.
Leading our efforts to increase opportunities for effective cancer treatments by engaging in cancer immunotherapy clinical trials is Terence Rhodes, MD, PhD, Director of the Immuno-Oncology at Intermountain. Dr. Rhodes is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine, is fellowship-trained in hematology/oncology, and conducts research and development in cancer immunotherapies out of the Intermountain Southwest Cancer Center in St. George, Utah. Dr. Rhodes also sees patients in the Precision Genomics Cancer Research Clinic in Murray, Utah, as well as St. George and Cedar City.
