Intermountain Delta Community Hospital is a not-for-profit 17-bed inpatient Critical Access Hospital located in rural central Utah. We feature expert doctors, nurses, technicians, and support staff who offer a wide range of high-quality inpatient and outpatient medical services. Delta Community Hospital provides advanced urgent medical care to residents and visitors in our region. Since the 1960s, Delta Community Hospital continues to provide high quality, affordable healthcare, with a personal touch.
Delta Community Hospital has been named to Becker’s Hospital Review’s 67 Critical Access Hospitals to Know list for several years, and Delta’s benefit to the local community, specifically the hospital’s dedication to community health programming, was commended in the recognition.
“…The 18-bed hospital has served the Delta community for more than 30 years, growing to include four family practice physicians and a team of 74 caregivers,” Becker’s reports. “Delta Community Hospital supports several community programs, including free screenings and initiatives to encourage health and fitness among individuals and families.”
History
Delta Community Hospital was first established and built by the community in the 1960s as West Millard Hospital. In 1980, the hospital joined Intermountain Healthcare. A replacement hospital was later built and opened by Intermountain Healthcare in May of 1985.
The not-for-profit hospital is a critical access hospital for Delta and surrounding communities. Since its opening in 1985, the hospital has undergone renovations in patient rooms and improved women’s and newborn areas. The hospital also expanded imaging services to include a CT scanner in 2009. Currently, renovations and expansions are taking place, featuring a new lab, updated 3D mammography, expanded Emergency Department, and Operating Room expansion, creating more ease of access and expanded services.

Volunteers are a critical part of Delta Community Hospital. As a volunteer, you have the opportunity to serve, grow, learn, make new friends, exchange ideas, and contribute to our community.
How do volunteers serve in the hospital?
- Staff and operate the gift shop
- Greet and direct patients and visitors
- Serve as liaison in the Emergency Room and Same Day Surgery waiting rooms and in the Medical/Surgical Unit
- Deliver flowers and letters to patients
- Plan and organize activities
How can I become a hospital volunteer?
- Be 18 years of age or older
- Complete an online application
- Volunteer a minimum of 4 hours a week
- Make a six-month commitment
- Comply with all health requirements for vaccinations and immunizations
- Complete new volunteer orientation
- Be able to complete the tasks required of the position
