Program Description

The PGY2 psychiatric pharmacy residency program at Intermountain prepares residents to become an integral member of the healthcare team caring for psychiatric patients as the medication therapy expert. Following successful completion of the program, trainees will be qualified to pursue psychiatric clinical pharmacist or clinical faculty positions, as well as preparing them to obtain board certification in psychiatric pharmacotherapy.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of an ASHP-accredited (or candidate status) PGY1 pharmacy residency program
  • Candidates must be eligible for Utah licensure and are expected to obtain licensure as a pharmacist in Utah within the first 90 days of the program 

Program Outline and Assignments

Flexibility in scheduling learning experiences is imperative to providing a customizable experience for the resident; however, there are several required 4-6 week and longitudinal learning experiences (see learning experiences below). In addition, the resident must complete 4 hours of lecture (one-hour ACPE accredited CE, one-hour seminar, and 2 hours of lecturing at a college of pharmacy)

    • Curriculum vitae
    • Letter of intent addressing why you wish to complete a PGY2 psychiatric pharmacy residency at Intermountain Health
    • Three letters of recommendation
  • All application information must be received prior to 10 pm MST on January 2nd, 2025
