I have been a registered dietitian for over 30 years and have worked in both the in-patient and out-patient settings. I received my education in Southern California, where I lived until 1993. I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics and Food Administration from California State University, Long Beach. I worked about one year as a restaurant manager, then entered dietetics in healthcare. I have managed food service at retirement homes and skilled nursing facilities, and have “worked the floors” as a clinical dietitian. Currently, I am the dietitian for out-patient and wellness services in the LiVe Well Center at Dixie Regional Medical Center. I provide individual diet counseling as well as classes and community presentations. I have specialized in diabetes education and am certified through AND in weight management. I incorporate physical education with my nutrition counseling; wellness is more likely when those two factors work together.
