Trailhead

The Draper Park & Willow Creek Trails begin at Draper City Park in Draper, Utah. To reach the park from I-15 in the Salt Lake Valley:

  1. Take Exit 291 for 12300 South.
  2. Turn east onto 12300 South and continue for 2.2 miles to 1300 East.
  3. Turn right (south) onto 1300 East and continue 0.3 miles to Park Road.
  4. Turn right (west) onto Park Road and then immediately left into Draper City Park.

The Route

Begin walking or riding on the paved trail near the flagpole at the southwest end of the parking area. From the flagpole you can go in three directions; turning right leads through the playground to a parking area on the west side of the park while turning left will put you on the park loop going clockwise. Instead of going left or right, go straight, heading south directly into the park.

Keep going as the trail crosses a creek on a bridge before continuing into the park. Soon a junction is encountered on the left. This is a short connector trail that divides the larger park loop in half. Keep going straight on the main loop as it skirts along the edge of a baseball field and bleachers. Soon the trail turns south and arrives at the junction for the Willow Creek Trail at the southwest corner of the park. Turn left to stay on the park loop, or continue straight onto the Willow Creek Trail. For this route, go straight onto the Willow Creek Trail.

Keep walking or riding on the Willow Creek Trail as it heads south alongside open farmlands. Soon the trail turns west and continues past some homes and one minor street crossing. Check for traffic before continuing on to the end of the trail at Fort Street, approximately 0.7 miles from where it began in Draper City Park.

Turn around and continue back to the start of the Willow Creek Trail in Draper City Park. Turn right to get back on the park loop and keep walking or riding as the trail passes along the southern edge of the open space. Soon the trail passes by a small parking area and turns north, traversing 1300 East, before arriving back at your starting point.
