Whether walking running or bicycling Hyrum Gibbons Mt. Logan Park offers a variety of route options on a paved path with excellent views of Cache Valley. Three large loops combine to make 1.2 miles of walking path through a meticulously maintained park. This gives the opportunity to shorten or extend your walk to the time and energy you have.
Hyrum Gibbons Mt. Logan Park is located at the intersection of Eastridge Dr. and Gibbons Parkway in the Cliffside neighborhood on Logan’s east bench. To reach the park from Main Street in Logan:
- Turn east onto Center St. and continue 1.5 miles.
- Turn right onto Eastridge Dr. and continue 0.4 miles.
- Turn right onto Gibbons Parkway then immediately left into the parking area for Hyrum Gibbons Mt. Logan Park (41.727947, -111.799127).
From the parking area, begin walking on any of the wide, paved walkways. The parking area is located at the center of the three large loops, so the options are wide open. For an easier walk, stick with the south or north loops. The north loop circles a large sports field while the south loop circles a wide open area of grass, trees, and picnic tables.
The east loop connects the north and south loops and climbs to the highest point in the park. The elevation change is not significant at just over 60 feet, but it is enough to get your heart rate up. A bench located at the top of the east loop offers fine views of the entire Cache Valley and Wellsville Mountains in the distance.
The total distance of the paved paths through the park is approximately 1.2 miles. Customize your walk as desired by adding or skipping sections of the trail. This is a great location to build up your skill and stamina for longer walks and hikes.
